Ridley Scott new space thriller "The Martian" has emerged as a blockbuster earning huge collections worldwide. Movie inspired by Andy Weir's bestselling novel "The Martian" has made the space lovers more enthusiastic on red planet(Mars). The Martian has been most awaited movie with its huge cast, director and of course the story line which most of us already read.
Movie made with a budget of $108 million has earned $158 millions as of today. The other releases Pan and The Walk has not made much impact on audiences as the box office collections were as low as compared to their effort and budget. Pan and The Walk has collected $15.5 million and $6.4 million respectively.
WB has spent $150 million on Pan and it has been a huge misfire. Peter Pan debut has made huge loss. The Walk, the biopic about Philippe Petit’s daring high-wire walk between the Twin Towers cost $35 million to produce and has made zero impact on audience. “It’s a conundrum why more folks didn’t come out, because once you see it, it’s one of those films that you never forget,” said Rory Bruer, Sony’s distribution chief. “It’s a picture that everybody put their heart and soul into.”
NASA confirming water on Mars has made the movie worth watching. It has even released the pictures of spot where Matt Damon might have bunked on the lonely Red Planet.
